Dr. Roger Kuhns’ new full length movie about the Niagara Escarpment and its geological history especially in Door County, Wi. With a beautiful soundtrack, on location filming and fun animation, this movie makes clear so many interesting features of the Escarpment.
Gibraltar student Earth Day Art reception will start at 5:30 in the Link Gallery and Small Forest will be playing in the Fireside Lobby before the movie. There will be an After Chat so you can ask Dr Kuhns questions.

What if you could spend an hour chatting with one of your heroes? Roger Kuhns contemplated such a moment in regards to Jens Jensen the father of landscape architecture, the founder of The Clearing, the visionary for the Chicago Parks and Forest Preserve system, and the design of natural landscapes using native species. Jens Jensen was a recognized national master of all of these crafts and skills. Join Roger Kuhns as he delves into the words and experiences of Jens Jensen to bring them alive and communicate how this insightful Danish immigrant became an American icon, and a leader of native landscape design and the Prairie Movement. Roger Kuhns is a writer, geologist and sustainologist. He is also an award winning documentary filmmaker on the Niagara Escarpment (www.musictoearspress.com), Kuhns will be leading a short hike beginning at 4:00pm through the Lautenbach Woods Nature Preserve across from Woodwalk Gallery. This event is August 17th, start with the hike at 4 pm and bring a picnic over to Woodwalk before the show which starts at 7pm. Roger will be participating in a Climate and Sustainability panel at the National Ski Areas Association conference on January 31st at Mount Snow in Vermont.
